Muffler delete with Y pipe
The OEM Muffler this X5 had was big and restrictive. It not only quieted the exhaust note, it also creates a lot of backpressure as exhaust gases try to escape the engine. To replace the restrictive OEM Muffler, I had a shop custom make a Y pipe to be replacing it. I had a great experience from this as this was my first time welding, under the instruction of a mentor.

High Flow Downpipe install
Similar to the muffler, a downpipe is a restrictive part of the exhaust system created to reduce emissions, noise, and unfortunately creates a LOT of backpressure. Downpipes are also usually the catalytic convertors themselves, some people opt to delete these completely, but I chose to go with High Flow catalytic convertors to reduce back pressure and produce a better exhaust note while staying within emission laws.

Here's a video of some revving of the X5 with all of the modifications done.
